Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Sister White declared that God’s work on Earth will not be accomplished until men and women comprising the general church membership rally to the work*. God does not call the equipped. Rather, He equips those He calls. He requires that every church member becomes an active participant in securing the salvation of souls lost in sin. In the summer of 2007, several lay people answered this call- to reach people for Christ. Armed with the word of God and a strong desire to make a difference in their community, this group of lay people began what is today called the SHINE Ministry. It’s simple.

What if small groups of church members set aside two hours on Sabbath afternoon.

What if they began systematically visiting those in their city, one home at a time?

What if they shared gospel and health literature, offered prayers and encouragement along the way?

What if they had never done this before? What if they tried?

What if this happened in 1 church every Sabbath. What if it happened in 10 churches. 1000 churches.
